Biggest Water Balloons in History (Of this Household)

Annabel had some leftover balloons from a science project so we had some fun with them. We decided to make giant water balloons! Annabel made a green one, and Shawn made an orange one, but I didn't make a giant one yet. And I'm kinda glad I waited because if I didn't, I might not have arms right now. Boy were they HEAVY!

House Concert

Last weekend, Dad played a house concert. He let Annabel and me be in it too. Annabel opened with an amazing version of the National Anthem and then I played one of my songs. Dad played a set of his new and old songs and then we ate the potluck dessert with fruit salad, biscotti, and cookies.

Summer Trip Comin' Up

This summer, as I might have already said, we're going to Europe and I'm so excited. We're going to eat some really good food. Here's all the pros (or some of them). Good food, treats, beautiful scenery, treats, Eiffel Tower, treats, adventure, treats, trains, treats, lots of Nintendo DS time, treats, family and friends and treats. Oh, and I think I forgot to say treats. Don't want to forget that!

We are also going to go to Rochester, New York to see my grandparents and San Ramon California to see Amma, an Indian saint.

I think this summer trip's going to be a blast!!!!

Just in our front yard, I got some really cool pictures of a beautiful bird and some other shots of nature's wonders. My zoom lens is incredible and so is my computer. I like to use iPhoto to fix up my pictures. These birds were very high up and I wanted some good clear shots so I cropped them on iPhoto!

Shawnie's First Tooth

Shawn lost his first tooth now that he's six. He was so excited.

"At first I thought it was a fake tooth!" he said. He was in the bathtub after we had been swimming in our pool. His tooth was bleeding a little because he had bonked it while swimming. I thought it was ready to come out and Mom said it wasn't. But I, being mischievous, wanted it out now. And so did Shawn. I brought an apple down and told him it would loosen the tooth while Mom was occupied upstairs. He chewed on the apple for a while and the tooth became very loose.

"Oh, it's ready now!" I told him.

"Pull it out, Sky!" he shouted.

So I took a paper towel and counted. 1...2...3...POP! Out it came. Now normally I am a quiet, polite, civilized, mature 12-year-old. Ok, maybe not. Anyway, I came screaming up the stairs. "DAD DAD DAD DAD! SHAWN'S TOOTH IS OUT!!!!!" And it was an exciting day indeed.

Taekwando Tournament

On May 9th, we left at 7:30 am to get to the other side of town by quarter to nine for the tournament. When we got there, we signed up and got tags. All three of us were so nervous. Then it was form time and the adult black belts went first. They were amazing. One of our teachers won the gold medal. We were all so proud of her. After that, Shawn went and won a first place! He did the best forms. Plus, I bet the judges loved his red hair!

Then Annabel and I did forms. I won second place and Annabel won fourth.

After that, it was sparring time. That's like fighting with pads. It's pretty scary and you never know who you'll be matched up against. Annabel went first and did very well. But, there was still another match to fight. Shawn went and also did well but was a bit upset he didn't win. But he still got to try again in another match!

Annabel went again and won the second match. She was so out of breath and there was still one more match for her to fight. Just when she was about to catch her breath, they put her in and boy was she tired. But you know what, she did awesome and won third place! That's amazing for her first tournament!

Then Shawn went again and won fourth!

I only had to fight once. I would win either first or second place because I only had to fight once. I was very scared because the girl I had to fight was so much bigger and stronger than I was. I did my best and took second. Maybe I'll win first next time.

Anyhow it was such a great experience and so much fun!

Shawn, as far as I'm concerned, is the best brother the world could have. I love him so much and he's six now! I can't believe it! Six years ago he was a tiny baby with no hair!

Little Drummer

He's always liked loud noises and what better way to show it than by being the family's little drummer! He's getting better every day! He'll sit for long periods of time at the electric drum set drumming with the CD player to Sting, The Police, The Beatles, Bonnie Raitt and so many more.
